Description

The Department of Integration and Clare County Council have confirmed that they've received no offer for the use of a property in Corofin, as emergency accommodation for asylum seekers. It comes as protestors both in favour and against the use of the site for Asylum Seekers have been demonstrating on approach to the building this week. Clare's Fianna Fáíl Senator spoke to the group last night and feels the demonstration is uneccesary, owing to the fact that no emergency accommodation contract has been agreed between the propeirtor and the state. Mountshannon Senator Timmy Dooley says, however, the government can't continue to leave communities in the dark or similar situations will occur.
