Deal or no deal? 5,000 Naira in exchange for your fuel subsidy.

<p>In November 2021, Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance announced the government plans to finally and completely remove fuel subsidy and implement a 5,000 Naira cash transfer to Nigeria’s vulnerable population in order to offset the impact. The argument is that the money saved from fuel subsidy would then go toward other development and infrastructural projects that the country badly needs. It’s a very logical argument in theory.
