DAY 412: Russia escalates shelling in Ukraine

<p>As Russia ramps up shelling of civilian areas in Ukraine, the U.N. reveals at least 400 civilians have died and that the actual death toll is likely much higher. It comes as the war sends more than 1.7 million refugees fleeing the violence. Meantime, the Secretary of Defense orders 500 more troops and equipment to Europe to help NATO allies. Adm.
