<p>The thesaurus can help [It doesn't' sound so cool]</p> <p><br> <br> We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at <a href="http://www.myrise.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.myrise.co.uk</a></p> <p><br></p> <p>We’ve mentioned many times that the words we use are powerful drivers of our behaviour.</p> <p>Our words drive our thoughts……….</p> <p>Which drive our actions and behaviours………</p> <p>Which drive our results.</p> <p>If we can challenge and tweak the way we describe things, the results can often come more easily than before.</p> <p>Sometimes we can use terms that make our behaviour sound almost kind of cool.</p> <p>But a quick look in the thesaurus for other words and phrases that mean the same can quickly change that.</p> <p>“I’m a procrastinator” we might say.</p> <p>To explain why we haven’t done something.</p> <p>Sounds a bit like we’re a deep thinker and something amazing is on it’s way.</p> <p>Or maybe maybe we’ve been doing some great work elsewhere whilst allowing this to ‘percolate’.</p> <p>The thesaurus gives us;</p> <p>dawdle<br> dilly-dally<br> loiter<br> stall<br> drag one’s feet<br> shilly-shally<br> lolly-gag</p> <p>Doesn’t sound quite so cool, does it?</p> <p>Or we might say “I’m a perfectionist”.</p> <p>Again to explain why we haven’t done something.</p> <p>Same thing with what the thesaurus gives us;</p> <p>fusspot<br> quibbler<br> fussbudget<br> daydreamer<br> fantasizer<br> woolgatherer</p> <p>And is it worth considering that, maybe, perfectionism is another word for;</p> <p>fear of criticism?</p> <p>After all, how often do we not do something that no one else will see because we’re “a perfectionist”?</p> <p>Rarely, if ever.</p> <p>It’s when we have to put something out to the world that sub-optimal that we struggle.</p> <p>I’m approaching 2,300 days in a row of doing these blogs.</p> <p>Have there been any that could not possibly have been improved with some more editing?</p> <p>Doubtful.</p> <p>None have been perfect.</p> <p>But “ok and d
