Optimus Prime got it wrong ["We don't do transformations"]

We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at www.myrise.co.uk

You’re aware of The Transformers, yeah?

Either the original cartoon from the 80s.

Or the more recent films.

Or, of course, both.

Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and…. err….. the other ones.

Turn from a vehicle (or something else) into a robot with arms and legs and back again.

Not really Transformation was it though?

More just a rearrangement of their features.

And a transformation is normally a one way thing.

Someone gaining and losing weight repeatedly isn’t normally called a Transformation.

“Yo-yo dieting” usually.

Transformation is more permanent.

When a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, it never goes back.

And it’s significant change.

A slight trim at the barbers wouldn’t be classed as a Transformation.

A completely different hairstyle and some facial tattoos and piercings probably would be.

Transformation is a significant and lasting change.

Which is why it always tickles me when other FitPros say “We don’t do transformations”.

So……. you do insignificant and temporary changes?

I know the point their trying to make.

They do long term progress rather than something with a shorter time frame (like our eight week programme).

And I get why.

Long term progress is, ultimately, the best way.

But long term seems too much for many.

We meet them where they ‘are’.

Start with something they feel they can do.

Rather than committing to a lifetime of exercise and healthy eating.

Relatively quick initial results to get buy in and enthusiasm.

There’s research that suggests quicker initial progress followed by a transition into something else……..

Has up the five
