Customs seize smuggled donkey skin, petrol in Adamawa, Taraba

<p>The Adamawa/ Taraba Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says it seized raw donkey skin, petrol and other smuggled goods worth N19.4 million in August.</p>, <p>The Comptroller in-charge of the Command, Alhaji Salisu Kazaure, disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Yola on Thursday.</p>, <p>He said that the seized items included 200 pieces of raw donkey skin and vehicle used in conveying the smuggled commodity, as well as 127 bags of 50kg foreign rice.</p>, <p>According to him, the other seized item is 12,355 litres of petrol inside jerry cans.</p>, <p>“The Command will not rest on its oars in the fight against smuggling being perpetrated along the waterways and on land,” he said.</p>, <p>He praised the headquarters of NCS for prompt logistics support which, he said, enabled officers and men of the Command to perform optimally.</p>, <p>“We will sustain collaboration with sister agencies and relevant stakeholders to check this ugly trend, ” he added.
