Cultivating Conviction _Pt 3

<p>Wednesday 23rd September 2020</p> <p><br></p> <p>Hello and a lovely Wednesday morning to you in the name of Jesus.</p> <p>We are still talking about cultivating conviction. Why is it important we cultivate our conviction? Because conviction doesn’t just come. The bible says in the book of Romans 10:17 faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So, if faith comes, that means faith can go. Remember we said that faith means conviction so if conviction comes, conviction can go.</p> <p>So, what are the things we can do to cause conviction to come and cause conviction to go. Those are the things we’ve been looking at through the life of the great man Moses. Moses faced a lot of complications in his life. He was convinced about something at a certain point in his life. Many years later things happened, challenges came, he lost his conviction and God helped him build that conviction back again to the point where he was able to fulfil what God wanted him to do with his life.</p> <p>We read this morning from Exodus 3:1-6 (NLT) then verses 13 - 14: One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up. “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.” When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied. “Do not come any closer,” the Lord warned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I am the Lord God of your father —the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.
