<p>Today we catch up with our colleague and friend, Victoria (Vicky) Avanzato, a 5th year MD/DPhil student in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) MD/PhD Partnership Training Program. Vicky discusses her unique physician-scientist education which consists of medical school training at Emory University (Atlanta, Georgia), and graduate school training at the University of Oxford (U.K.) and the National Institutes of Health's Rocky Mountain Labs (Hamilton, Montana) as part of the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program (OxCam). Vicky also discusses her research on Nipah viruses, the impact of COVID19 on her own dissertation work and subsequent pivot to study COVID19.
