COVID DELTA VARIANT

The last year and a half have provided us with so many new experiences, including the COVID pandemic. Just when we thought we maybe had a break, we hear of "COVID Mutations" and the "DELTA" variant. What are these mutations? Is this normal for a virus? What specifically is the "DELTA" and is it more dangerous?
