<p>The theme of the Exodus is vitally significant for Jews and Christians alike. God&rsquo;s deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt after long periods of slavery has inspired many African-American spirituals and Christian songs. And, just like Israel of old, those who are saved by the grace of God are delivered from the slavery of sin.
