Could See an Isolated Storm or Two Later Today & Friday; Otherwise a Hot & Dry Week, Weekend & Next Week

<p>Hot and mostly dry weather conditions will continue this week as the Tri-state area sits on the eastern edge of an upper-level ridge over the western U.S.  Shortwave pieces of energy and weak cool fronts later today and this evening and again on Friday will be our only chances for some isolated late afternoon and evening thunderstorms.  High will be in the 90’s to around 100 and lows in the 60’s.  The continued dry and hot summer will intensify the moderate and severe drought over the highway 25 corridor putting stress on fall crops, pastures, animals, and people.  Today and tonight, we will still have hazy skies from smoke from fires in the Rockies and western U.S. </p>
