<p>This is Vaccine 411, the latest coronavirus vaccine information for July 8th, 2021.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The World Health Organization is getting nervous COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted way too soon considering the rate at which the delta variant is spreading. Its head of emergencies urged countries "not to lose the gains you've made". England, in particular, is coming under heated questioning and criticism for lifting restrictions July 19. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>And here’s the reason that criticism is happening. A new study shows COVID-19 infections in England have quadrupled in one month since early June. The Prime Minister said he was reconciled to more deaths from COVID-19, but that life needed to return to normal. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In the U.S., the government is deploying a Covid-19 surge team to lend support in southwest Missouri, where the virus is filling up hospital beds again. The surge is so high in the city of Springfield, a hospital system started sending some patients to other facilities. The state came in second to Arkansas in the past week for the most new cases per capita.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Some are wondering why we went from Operation Warp Speed to Operation Status Quo. Even with massive numbers of people getting vaccines and peer reviewed studies on safety published, the FDA has yet to give the vaccines full approval. It’s believed doing so might give a much-needed boost to vaccine acceptance and lead to more employers, schools, and the military requiring vaccination. The FDA has not indicated when approval might happen.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>For some beauty pageant contestants, perhaps their talent was avoiding viral infection. Nearly half the contestants at this year's Miss Mexico pageant tested positive for the coronavirus. Organizers went ahead with the show even though some had symptoms, but finally ended it Saturday when all the tests came back. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In the United States cases were up 35%, deaths are down 40%, and hospitalizations are flat over 14 days.
