Confirmation battles could face new lobbying disclosures

May 25, 2023 - In the wake of the fight over Gov. Kathy Hochul's failed bid to have the Hon. Hector LaSalle serve as the state's chief judge, Senate Deputy Majority Leader Mike Gianaris, a Queens Democrat, is pushing legislation designed to increase transparency in lobbying on gubernatorial nominations requiring senate confirmation.
