Description

Dr. Michael Graves is Armerding Professor of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College. In addition to teaching Hebrew, Aramaic, and Syriac, along with a range of biblical book studies, he has taught courses on Judaism, World Religions, and the Qur'an and the Bible. He explains how knowledge of OT Hebrew and the Greek version of the OT, the Septuagint, illuminates the meaning of Paul’s Greek wording in Romans 8:3. Paul has appropriated an OT idiom, the phrase “concerning sin,” to assert that Jesus’s sacrifice is a sin offering in the tradition of Lev. 5:6 and related passages.
