Clare Water Safety Officer Warns Of Invisible Threats Over Long Weekend

The Clare County Council Water Safety Officer is stressing the dangers of cliff walking during bad weather. The long weekend is expected see visitors flocking to Clare's local cliffs and coastlines, while Met Eireann is alert to the possiblity of stormy conditions with heavy wind and rain forecast this weekend. Members of the public are reminded to be aware of all edges around the sea and waterside and that slips, trips and falls can occur in any location. The Chair of Water Safety Ireland and Clare County Council's Water Safety Officer , Clare McGrath, warns that rainfall has made the ground on the cliffs sodden and prone to sliding.
