Description

The Chair of the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum claims housing supply will be vital if the county hopes to adapt to the influence of climate change on holidaying trends. A new EU report has forecast a 5% rise in footfall to Ireland if global warming persists at a rate of 1.9 degrees Celsius per annum. The report which analysed the correlation between tourist demand and temperatures at 269 locations throughout Europe found that Munster alone could see a 14% increase in visitors hoping to enjoy less intense conditions. Hotel Woodstock Owner Seán Lally says while Clare has serious potential, the lack of housing stock is holding the county back.
