Description
A Clare Independent TD is raising concerns over the lengthy dental waiting lists facing school children in the county. New figures obtained through a parliamentary question show that a total of 5,623 Clare students were waiting to be called for their school dental check at the end of term. The HSE has attributed the backlog to the suspension of appointments, school closures and redeployment of staff during the Covid-19 Pandemic. However, Kilrush Deputy Violet Anne-Wynne who raised the matter in the Dáíl, believes the public dental practice is on the verge of collapse.
