Clare Senator Adamant Those On High Salaries As Deserving Of Energy Supports As Anyone Else

An East Clare Oireachas members believe pressure must be kept on electricity companies to ensure they're not making "super profits". This week, Electric Ireland, SSE Airtricity and PrePay Power have slashed their gas and electricity prices by between 10% and 13.5%, while Bord Gais and Flogas are expected to follow suit on Monday. To support households affected by high bills, a once-off additional fuel allowance payment of €300 is due to be paid on the 20th of this month, while electricity credits of €450 will be applied at the start of December this year and the end of March of next year.
