Clare Public Urged To Embrace Understanding This Psoriasis Awareness Month

People in Clare and beyond are being urged to be learn the signs of a prevalent long term skin condition this Psoriasis awareness month. The long term skin disease causes a rash with itchy scaly patches, most commonly found on the knees, elbow and trunk. This condition currently affects over 73,000 people nationwide and can be triggered by a range of factors including stress and skin injuries. Although the condition is presently incurable, treatments such as steroid creams and ointments are often used to reduce inflamation. Clare FM Programming Director Padraic Flaherty, who has been living with Psoriasis for over 21 years says public understanding is essential.
