Clare Independent TD Raises Shortage Of Social Housing For Large Families

A Clare Independent TD insits the rental market is unattainable for larger families who are in receipt of the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). Speaking in the Dáil, Independent Deputy Violet-Anne Wynne, called on the governemnt to address the shortage in four and five-bedroom social houses. In Clare, 164 families have been approved for such housing, with 7 of those based in Kilrush. Deputy Wynne says the matter needs to be addressed urgently as emergency accommodation is at full capacity.
