Clare Charities Raise Concerns Over Lifting Of Eviction Ban

Description
Charities across Clare are raising concern over a lack of available accommodation when the ban is lifted later this month. They want to see a firm focus on supports for those who fall into homelessness, as well as the provision of temporary accommodation. With just eight days to go to the lifting of the eviction ban, a number of organisations in Clare have expressed concern over the impact for at-risk groups. Clare Haven, which offers refuge to victims of domestic violence across the county, received 341 requests for admission last year. Manager of the service, Dr Siobhán O'Connor says that because of the volume of calls, they could only accomodate one third of families who sought shelter.
