Claims Active Travel Allocation Completely Neglecting West Clare

A West Clare Councillor is seeking urgent clarity on national policy regarding the distribution of active travel funding to rural communities. It comes as a new briefing document states that the National Transport Authority will be prioritising projects in Ennis and Shannon. A total of budget of €4.5 was allocated for twenty-eight projects in this county at the beginning of the year, so far €3.3 million has already been approved for both towns, while no initiatives are yet to be rubber stamped in West Clare.
