You are going to want to join me as I, read, discuss, and commentate on the book of Colossians as we see that Christ Jesus is SUPREME and RULER OVERALL! The book of Colossians was written by Paul around AD 61 to the Christians in Colosse. Paul wrote this letter to defend the truth that Christ is truly God, and he encouraged the Believers to live confidently with God's power for help. While Paul was a prisoner in Rome, he wrote this letter to a city he never visited. He had come to know all these Believers while living in Ephesus on his second missionary journey. He was concerned because he had heard of some strange pagan thinking that was creeping into the church. The views that were troubling the Colossians were a mixture of astrology, magic, and judaism, which together downgraded Christ to being just some sort of angel. Paul writes to correct this error by showing that Christ is God and the full nature of God is in Him. Paul also included instruction on how to live the Christian life.
