China decides to downgrade diplomatic relations with Lithuania

The Chinese foreign ministry says China has decided to downgrade the diplomatic relations with Lithuania to the level of charge d'affaires. This comes after China on Thursday expressed strong protest over and firm opposition to Lithuania's approval of the establishment of a so-called Taiwan representative office in the eastern European country.
