Description

TODAY, an upper-level trough comes over the Rockies and through the Tri-state region with a cold front this morning that at most produces some sprinkles. Decent rains develop east of the area, while colder air and gusty north winds sinks in behind the system this afternoon, tonight and tomorrow. Wind gusts 40-50 mph will result in blowing dust and potential fire weather concerns with moderate to severe drought still gripping the region. Cooler highs in the upper 40’s and lows in the 20’s will warm into the lower 50’s Friday with breezy northwesterly flow. Warm-up into the mid to upper 60’s Saturday when we will briefly see some warmer air work in from the west as a ridge rebuilds over the Rockies, while dry cool front Sunday drops temperatures into the 50’s.
