The holiday honors Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael, and calls for a “qurbani,” or animal sacrifice, and then distributing the meat to your family, neighbors and especially the poor. It begins July 8 through July 9. The lamb is sacrificed and divided into 3 parts, one for the impoverished, one from friends and one for family, symbolizing the sharing ...</p> <p>Our first guest is Besheer Mohamed of the PEW Research Center who will talk about Muslims in America and the challenges they face and their celebrations of Eids.
