Carl Giammarese and The Buckinghams

<p>Carl Giammarese began his music career as a founding member of The Buckinghams, as lead guitarist and vocalist, in 1965. The Buckinghams were an important part of creating the sounds of American rock music after the British invasion had arrived and changed everything. The Buckinghams enjoyed No. 1 status and other positions on Billboard’s music charts for 5 years. They released 15 hit singles and 4 albums that charted, and they toured nationally for five years.<span class= "Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>Upon The Buckinghams ending in 1970, Carl explored his talents as a singer-songwriter. He teamed up with Dennis Tufano in the 1970s and together they released 4 singles and 3 albums, with one of Carl’s compositions, “Music Everywhere,” making Billboard’s top 100.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>Near the end of the 1970s, the singer-songwriter music popularity was slowly giving way to disco sounds, and Carl transitioned into a career as a professional jingle singer from 1977–1980. He also continued to write songs and looked at putting together a band to perform the new music he was writing.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p> <p>However, in 1980 something magical happened; with the resurgence of 1960s music now being considered “classic rock,” it was a popular genre once again. When Carl received the call about potentially reuniting The Buckinghams for Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne’s ChicagoFest, it launched renewed interest in The Buckinghams’ full catalog of music. After a handful of dates, and based on popular audience demand, the opportunity to tour again seemed viable.</p> <p>Carl decided to initiate a full national touring schedule for The Buckinghams; he then became the lead singer in 1982. Together with bassist/vocalist Nick Fortuna, they chose three sidemen to perform with them, and they officially re-formed The Buckinghams. Since then, they have toured nonstop, nationally and internationally, individually, with other classic rock performers and as part of the 1985–198
