Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist Discusses Link Between Heart Disease And Chronic Kidney Disease

On Thursday's Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Maeve Frawley who is a Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist from Kilshanny and is now living in Westmeath. Maeve raised awareness surrounding the close link between heart disease and chronic kidney disease on World Kidney Day 2023. She described the role of both the heart and kidney and highlighted the way in which the two organs are interlinked and go hand in hand. She also discussed the various risk factors associated with both heart disease and chronic kidney disease along with recommending various checks that a person should get done in order to identify any possible issues with your heart, blood pressure and pulse etc. A free public online webinar will take place at 6:30pm this evening titled 'Kidney and Heart Health Go Hand In Hand'.
