Can You Be a Christian and Struggle with Addiction?

What does it mean that for the Lord, “one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”<br /> My brother has become a member of the LDS church and says that Satan and Jesus were spirit brothers. But Satan was a created being and Jesus is God. When my brother said this it led to us being upset and a lot of conflict between us. I am very frustrated and concerned for him.
