Fiscal responsibility in management is about controlling spending certainly. But its not just the obvious dollars spent on frivolous items we are talking about. It's also spending on over time, on non value added time, on extended setups and delay caused by non productive equipment. And don't get me started on unsafe equipment and the human cost! As a manager and leader our role is about delivering value to our customer at the lowest effective cost. This means being relentless at finding and eliminating obvious forms of waste. Sometimes equipment that "still works" is costing your business dearly.
