Burna Boy becomes first artist to hit 1 billion streams on Boomplay

<p>Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has become the first artist to amass one billion streams on the digital music streaming platform, Boomplay.</p>, <p>He achieved the feat following the release of his seventh studio album, “I Told Them.”</p>, <p>A check on his Boomplay account by DAILY POST shows that the singer has amassed over a billion streams on the platform.</p>, <p>Boomplay is the largest digital music streaming platform in Africa. It was launched in 2015.</p>, <p>Burna Boy is also the most followed artist on the platform with over 600,000 followers.</p>, <p>The “African Giant” crooner is the first Nigerian artist to surpass 1 billion career streams on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Audiomack and Boomplay.</p>
