Book Vs Movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" (1971)

An English writer of children’s books and was best known for the SciFi-Fantasy collection</span> <em><span style= "font-weight: 400;">The Borrowers</span></em> <span style= "font-weight: 400;">in the 1950s. For this story, she uses some supernatural elements to tell the tale of a trio of British kids during WW2 who are hiding out in the English countryside. They meet a local villager, Miss Price, who turns out to be an apprentice witch. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The stories appeared as</span> <em><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Magic Bed Knob; or How to Become a Witch in Ten Easy Lessons</span></em> <span style= "font-weight: 400;">and</span> <em><span style= "font-weight: 400;">Bonfires and Broomsticks</span></em> <span style="font-weight: 400;">which in 1957 became</span> <em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bedknobs and Broomsticks</span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">. The property was sold to Disney and was developed for years in the wake of the</span> <em><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mary Poppins</span></em> <span style="font-weight: 400;">success of the early 1960s. </span></p>
