Binary System Podcast #307: WTNV #204 "The Audition"

The director's going for more of a traditional interpretation (not like her <em>Tartuff</em>e in the nude, or <em>The Iceman Cometh</em> in space). But after growing up inside and adjacent to the theater, we can pretty much say that <em>any </em>live performance of a classic - even a really weird interpretation - counts to us as a "traditional" theater experience.</p> <p>Except Cecil's interpretation of <em>Equus</em>. Good God. No, Cecil, <em>Equus</em> is not just a story about "a little boy who likes horsies", the heck is the matter with you?</p> <p>The theater-centric episode lets us wander off into tangents like Kurosawa's <em>Throne of Blood </em>and Lin Manuel Miranda's <em>In the Heights</em>. Elizabeth's also seen all of season 2 of Raised By Wolves, and we <em>have </em>to talk for a bit about the <em>endless</em> creativity of Transformers fan artists.
