Description

Dr. Christopher Ramsden, dietary research at the NIH, is described by Scientific American, as "the Indiana Jones of Biology". In 2011, he noticed that a large and expensive study financed by the NIH was published late and with very little of the promised data. The principle investigator, Dr. Ivan Frantz, of the University of Minnesota, had died in 2009. But his son was a physician in Mayo. The son drove 90 minutes back to Dr. Frantz's home.

In the basement, there were file folders and boxes containing - IBM magnetic data tapes and even data punch cards. Dr. Ramsden was able to get the data off the tapes and card. He analyzed it and published it in BMJ in April 2017 (British Medical Journal).

For more information, contact us at 859-721-1414 or myhealth@prevmedheartrisk.com.
