Description

Beatriz Cortez is one of the artists exhibiting as part of “Shifting Center” coming to EMPAC. The exhibition poses sculpture as time-based and presents it with moving-image and spatial-audio installations across the concert hall, proscenium stage, and studios at EMPAC. On October 29, join us at the Sanctuary for a reception for the arrival of the monumental sculpture “Ilopango, the Volcano that Left” as it docks in Troy after traveling the Hudson River onboard the John J. Harvey fireboat, before it is installed at EMPAC. This interview with Beatriz Cortez took place after a tour of the Sanctuary Eco-Art Trail and North Troy. Please join us in welcoming her back and welcoming her sculpture, on October 29, at 3pm. You can register at MediaSanctuary.org
