<p>"No one will ever be as invested in your success or your health as much as you."</p><p>What do you do when you find out that your life isn't going to go the way you thought it would?</p><p>Even more, what do you do when you find out that the time you have left is limited?</p><p>In this episode, Mike and Trevor talk to Derek Griffin, a Green Beret who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2019 about the cause of his cancer, his treatments, how his diagnosis affected his relationships, and the importance of being your own advocate when it comes to your health.</p><p>Derek also discussed how <a href="https://greenberetfoundation.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Green Beret Foundation</a> played a crucial role in helping him to get into the <a href="https://www.polytrauma.va.gov/facilities/San_Antonio_PTRP.asp" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">San Antonio Polytrauma Transitional Rehabilitation Program</a> to regain his cognitive functions after the effects of his death and resuscitation.</p><p>Much like Agent Orange with our Vietnam Vets, and "Gulf War Syndrome" for those who served during Persian Gulf conflict, burn pits have been directly linked to an increase in cancers amongst service members and veterans.
