<p>Dr. Tracy Buenavista is #WhoYouNeeded . Tracy is a fierce and gorgeous Professor of Asian American Studies at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and a core faculty member in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. She also serves as the co-principal investigator for the  CSUN DREAM Center. Tracy teaches courses on race and  racism, immigration, and research methods. In her research, she uses critical race theory to examine how education, immigration, and  militarization shape the contemporary experiences of Pilipinxs in the  U.S. Helen jokes that she is Tracy's #1 fan because of the amount of admiration she has for her. Helen and Tracy discuss the complex mechanisms in Pilipinx identity. Tracy talks about the importance of speaking truth in relationship.
