Barbara Kruger, Samantha Nye

<p>Episode No. 521 features artists <strong>Barbara Kruger</strong> and <strong>Samantha Nye.</strong></p> <p>The Art Institute of Chicago is presenting <a href= "https://www.artic.edu/exhibitions/2930/barbara-kruger-thinking-of-you-i-mean-me-i-mean-you"> "THINKING OF <s>YOU</s>. I MEAN <s>ME</s>. I MEAN YOU.,"</a> a survey spanning Kruger's career. The exhibition includes works on vinyl, site-specific installations, animations, and multichannel video installations installed in many disparate parts of the museum. It was organized by the AIC, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York, to which it will travel after closing in Chicago on January 24, 2022. The exhibition was curated by James Rondeau, Robyn Farrell, Michael Govan, Rebecca Morse, and Peter Eleey. The handsome catalogue was co-published by LACMA and DelMonico Books. <a href= "https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781942884774">Indiebound</a> and <a href="https://amzn.to/3GqThsq">Amazon</a> offer it for $45-60.</p> <p>Kruger has also fulfilled a commission from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston titled <a href= "https://www.gardnermuseum.org/calendar/exhibition/barbara-kruger-body-language"> "Body Language."</a> The work, which is installed on the exterior of the ISGM's Renzo Piano-designed addition, features a detail from Titian's painting <em>Diana and Actaeon</em>, and was installed on the occasion of "Titian: Women, Myth & Power" at the museum.
