When the bible says be separate from the world, what does that mean to you? How are you any different than all the people you are around? I open up the podcast sharing a post from a brother in Christ who asks the Christian some poignant questions about the validity of their faith. Because it looks like they are still part and parcel of the "world," but are claiming the Name. As you will hear, every battle cry of the backsliding believer who wants this world and Jesus too when they lament in self-deception, "who are you to judge me?" "You're not showing love!" "You don't sound like a Christian!" We will also be taking a look at 2 Timothy chapter 3 as well as Romans chapters 1 and 2. The Bible tells us to avoid people who are: "lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, 3 [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, 4 traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them." (2 Tim. 3).
