Description
On July 12 NASA will release the first science data – including the first science-quality images - from the $10 billion James Webb Space Telescope. The images are sure to be stunning, and guaranteed to make headlines around the world. But scientists, and deep learning, are already hard at work wringing insights from the torrent of data this one-of-a-kind scientific instrument will produce. We spoke with UC Santa Cruz's Brant Robertson, a professor of astrophysics and astronomy, who is leading several efforts at the intersection of cosmology and AI that promise to radically expand our understanding of the universe, and our own small place in it. https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2022/06/08/deep-learning-james-webb-space-telescope/
