This week-long celebration focuses on different bat causes, bat education, conservation, and amazing bat facts. The bat is one of the oldest living mammals on this earth, with a lineage that stretches back to more than 50 million years.  For ages, bats have been portrayed as negative characters. This holiday debunks myths and eradicates the lies to portray the bat as an influential component in our ecosystem.  there are about 900 species of bats currently on Earth. Bats eat many insects, including cotton earworms and cotton bollworms, thereby helping farmers keep their crops protected. Over 300 species of fruit depend on bats for pollination.
