Wenburg happened to be friends with Charles Delmonico of the famed new york eatery Delmonico's...so in 1876 they added it to their menu and it became an instant hit! However...Delmonico and Wenburg got into an argument and Delmonico removed the dish from the menu but the customers demanded it be returned...so he changed the name to Lobster Newburg in a dig to his former friend Wenburg.</p>
