<p>A Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has upheld the judgment of the National Assembly Petition Tribunal which validated the victory of Senator Sharafadeen Alli in Oyo South district.</p>, <p>DAILY POST reports that Alli contested the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).</p>, <p>He was declared the winner of the senatorial election held on Saturday 25th February, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.</p>, <p>But candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, Joseph Tegbe and his counterpart from the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Funmilayo Gbogbolomo challenged Alli’s victory at the tribunal.</p>, <p>DAILY POST recalls that the tribunal had earlier affirmed Alli’s victory.</p>, <p>The tribunal dismissed the petitions filed by the PDP and NNPP candidates.</p>, <p>The duo later approached the Court of Appeal after the judgement of the tribunal.</p>, <p>The Court of Appeal, however, on Friday, affirmed the victory of the APC senator.</p>, <p>The Court of Appeal dismissed Tegbe’s appeal on the grounds that it lacked merit, affirming the judgment of the tribunal.</p>, <p>It also dismissed Gbogbolomo’s appeal.</p>, <p>The judges unanimously dismissed the appeals by the duo.</p>
