Album & Era Review -- Irresistible

This week on The Ashlee and Jessicast, Lia & Joli are back with another album & era review, this time of Jessica's sophomore effort, Irresistible. We're a little more critical of this album than the last because we know Jessica's interests and desires were passed over in order to serve the record label's ridiculous ideas which mainly included forcing her to copy other popular young women of the time instead of using her unique talent to stand out. Idiots. Still, Jessica's starpower and work ethic shine through as she dances her butt off in tiny clothes while singing flawlessly live... all around the world! This era brought Jessica to many different countries including Afghanistan and Bosnia, when she spent basically her entire holiday season overseas supporting and entertaining the troops like the angel she is. We do a track-by-track review of the album with quotes from Jessica's interviews back then as well as her comments nearly 20 years later from her memoir, Open Book.
