<p>Isaac Watts was a prolific hymn writer and brilliant Bible student. &nbsp;Many of his hymns were written for Above Bar Congregational Church in Southampton, England, while in his late teens and early twenties. &nbsp;In 1707, his <em>Hymns and Spiritual Songs</em> was published. &nbsp;His impact has been felt long after his death, as witnessed by the part his music played in winning to Christ the author of a new generation of hymns and gospel songs and the impact we experience today.</p> <p>Article taken from <strong>Then Sings My Soul, Volumes 1 &amp; 2</strong> by Robert J.
