Acts 4:5-12 - Prog 19

In preaching of the Word of God, the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the fact that through faith in Him the lame man was made to walk, Peter and John were arrested by annoying anti-supernaturalist rulers. These don’t believe in spirit, or angels, resurrection or anything supernatural. They are total materialists in this world. In spite of it all, about 5,000 people were saved by hearing Peter’s message. They, being arrested, God provides another opportunity for his servants to bear witness to the Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation from sin that is only through faith in Him alone. Peter proclaimed to these religionists that this Jesus is the stone rejected by them who has now become the chief cornerstone. The cornerstone establishes angles and dimensions for the entire building.
