Description
Paul continues his defense before Felix the governor. Stating that he always exercises himself to have his conscience clear before both God and man, he proceeds to account for his actions in the temple in Jerusalem. All Paul did was tell the truth of what he did. It is noteworthy that none of the opposition could present any contrary evidence. Felix then decides to stop the proceedings inorder to give time for the Roman tribune, Lysias, and Felix with his Jewish wife, Drusilla to enter. This gave Paul an occasion to speak to Felix about the gospel. As we read, it caused no small discomfort to Felix because Paul reasoned of righteousness, self-control and of the judgment to come. What the governor really was hoping for was a pay-off from Paul.
