Description
We continue our study in Acts 19. Let's begin at verse 28 where Luke writes of the riot that occurred in Ephesus. It was instigated because the idol making businesses were being impacted by the preaching of Paul concerning the living and true God seen in Jesus Christ. In this passage Paul is prevented from addressing the riotous men. In due time, the town clerk of Ephesus quieted the crowd and wisely addressed the fact they were not a lawful assembly and the government would not stand for such a riot. He told them there were law courts for such complaints. Then Luke, joining Paul, continues to relate how Paul had traveled to Troas where he preached a very lengthy message. Dr. Mitchell shares how time was forgotten when this message was preached all night until daybreak. Are we hungry to spend time hearing the Word of God?
