Acts 17:23-34 - Prog 54

Paul, having been brought to the Areopagus, or Mars hill, proclaims THE God who made the heavens and the earth. Notice, no explanation, just proclamation. Hebrews 11:6 says, “..he that comes to God must believe that He is...” THIS GOD is the one who made from one man every nation to dwell on the face of the earth. From the first man Adam, God made every race under heaven and placed them on His earth where they would be able to find God, if they would but seek Him. Today, He still gives to all life and breath and all things. Paul, then, contrasts the images constructed by the technology and imagination of men with THE DIVINE BEING, e.g. the true and living God. This One will bring all men to account. As proof of this, God raised Jesus, their judge, from the dead. Since the judge is alive, the judgment is certain.
