Luke records how the message of the Word of God had such an impact that many of those having listened, wanted to hear more. Paul and Barnabas exhorted them to continue in the grace of God which they had heard. What grace of God did they hear? They heard of God’s forgiveness of their sins and His justification out from under 613 commandments of Moses’ law. This grace of God is guaranteed by the finished work of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Mitchell addresses the sins of envy and jealousy which the opposition expressed towards the messengers and the message of the Gospel. Notice how Luke shows the difference between the Jews and Gentiles in Acts 13:45-48, the difference also between the believers and those who would not believe.
